We provide business professionals access to world-class Project Management courses and expert tutors. Working directly with students and through our partner universities, we deliver online courses to students across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Our programs are designed for experienced professionals, project team leads and team members who want to build their knowledge and skills in project management to more effectively plan, collaborate and execute projects relevant to a variety of industries including the high-tech, corporate, education, government and small business sectors.
IPLA-Namibia training leverages three dimensions: practical experience, industry standard practices and our own independent research into what it takes to make a project a success. Drawing from sources such as the International Standards Organization’s ISO-21500 Project Management practice guide, the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (the PMBOK® Guide) and other reference sources, IPLA-Namibia focuses on helping people achieve results by applying knowledge.
IPLA-Namibia uses organizational, leadership, communications, and teamwork skill sets as a base for our training classes and has developed a set of materials that help working professionals develop their knowledge, their understanding and the insight needed to lead today’s projects and today’s teams.
Our training is practical and rooted in practice not theory. Our students learn about ideas they can use rather than theoretical concepts and models. Our training materials are written in plain English so that it needs no translation from textbook to real world. We recognize that working professionals are busy people therefore our course is designed so that it is sensitive to working schedules not rigid dates.
Hylton Ferreira (Chairman and CEO): Hylton is a senior faculty member with the International Project Leadership Academy. A certified Project Management Professional with over 20 years experience, his roles have varied from direct project management to senior management in the energy, telecommunications, not-for-profit, and retail sectors in Africa and Canada. Having the ability to see the project from the eyes of the owners and contractors gives Hylton a unique perspective and he writes and blogs about elements that trigger disconnect and failure in projects.
Hylton is accountable for the overall performance and success of the IPLA-Namibia team. He takes great pride building long-term relationships through value-addition, making sure our student’s interests come first and providing practical solutions for success.
